ABOUT THE SDDA
The Staunton Downtown Development Association (SDDA) is a nationally accredited Main Street program. Operating as a non-profit, volunteer-based, association since 1996, the SDDA’s mission is to enhance downtown Staunton’s economic environment as a center of commerce while maintaining the character and integrity of the city’s Downtown Service District.
The SDDA’s Vision is to connect customers, entrepreneurs, residents and visitors, making Downtown Staunton a genuine community hub.
What is the Downtown Service District (DSD)? All commercial properties located within the boundaries of the Downtown Service District pay a special assessment tax of an additional 15 cents for every $100 of property tax, which supports the SDDA. Business and property owners within the DSD boundaries receive different benefits as compared to those who are outside those boundaries.
