Getting to Downtown Staunton, Virginia
Located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, downtown Staunton is easily accessible from major highways. Here’s how to get here:
From the I-81 North or Southbound
Take I-81 South toward Staunton.
Take Exit 222 for Route 250/Route 11 toward Staunton.
Turn right onto Richmond Ave (US-250 W).
Continue for about 2.5 miles.
Follow signs to downtown Staunton via Greenville Avenue.
DIRECTIONS:
From the West (I-64 Eastbound):
Take I-64 East toward Staunton.
Merge onto I-81 North via Exit 87 toward Staunton/Winchester.
Take Exit 222 for Route 250/Route 11 toward Staunton.
Turn left onto Richmond Ave (US-250 W).
Follow signs to downtown Staunton via Greenville Avenue.

There is plenty of public parking available throughout downtown, including garages, surface lots, and free street parking.
Parking in Downtown Staunton
Free street parking is available along Beverley Street, Central Avenue, Lewis Street, Market Street, New Street, and North Augusta Street.
Free surface lots downtown include the Firehouse Lot, Lewis Street Lot, and the Wharf Lot.
Parking on-street, in all city-owned surface parking lots, and at the Johnson Street Garage is free on weekends and on city holidays.
