Vote for Staunton’s First Pet Grand Marshal!

The pups have posed, the photos are in, and now it’s time for you to choose who will lead the 2026 Downtown Staunton Christmas Parade as our first-ever Pet Grand Marshal (alongside our [Human] Grand Marshal 😉)

Every dollar donated counts as one vote, and every vote supports the Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Animal Shelter (SAWAS). Vote for your favorite pup, support a wonderful local organization, and help crown one very good dog!

Make a pay-what-you-can donation through that dog’s individual link:

$1 = 1 vote, so if you donate $35, your dog gets 35 votes!

The voting closes November 1st at 11:59pm. The dog who receives the most votes will be named the 2026 Pet Grand Marshal and will take a place of honor in the Downtown Staunton Christmas Parade on Monday, November 30.

We will contact the winner on November 2nd and if they accept the award we will announce the winner by Nov 6th.

Your Votes Make a Difference

All money raised through the contest will benefit the Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Animal Shelter, helping support its work caring for local animals in need.

Donations are nonrefundable. The winning dog and owner must be available to participate in the Downtown Staunton Christmas Parade on Monday, November 30, from 5–8 p.m.
